The Solver page

This is the final step where everything becomes actual schedules. Assign teachers to courses by hand or let the Wizard solve automatically. Mix both: lock the assignments you care about and let the Wizard fill in the rest.

Quick start

  1. Click Detail on a classroom to open it.
  2. Drag a course card onto a time slot to assign it manually, or click Auto Select Teachers to fill them automatically.
  3. Click Solve to run the Wizard for the rest, or fill manually. Aim for 100% complete.

What the solver does (and what to finish first)

The solver turns your setup into finished timetables by placing each course's sessions into time slots with a qualified teacher. Because it builds on everything before it, the project has to be ready first.

If something's missing, a panel blocks solving — This Project is not ready to be solved — and lists what to fix, with shortcuts like To Study Plan and To Teachers. Common causes: a grade with no template, a study plan whose sessions don't balance, or a requirement with no qualified teacher.

The solver overview

The solver opens on a board of cards — one per classroom — each showing a mini schedule and a completion percentage.

  1. Use the toolbar to narrow things down: the All Grades and All teachers filters, a Completed / Pending toggle, and Search... by classroom.
  2. Click Detail on a card to open that classroom and start assigning.

Each card's percentage shows how many of its required sessions are filled, so you can see at a glance what still needs work.

The schedule grid

Inside a classroom, the left side is the week laid out as a grid. The Time column lists the day's sessions, and each other column is a day — or, if you use a multi-week structure, a block from your week cycle.

Slots are color-coded so you can read the schedule at a glance:

  1. Empty — a thin outline with no fill.
  2. Green — an assignment you placed (unlocked).
  3. Blue — a locked assignment.
  4. A small repeat count on an empty slot means it consumes more than one session because it repeats multiple times during the weeks cycle.

Assigning a teacher to a course

The right side lists the classroom's courses as cards. Each card lets you pick a teacher and shows how many sessions are still left to place.

  1. On a course card, open the teacher dropdown and choose a teacher. It only lists teachers qualified for that course (set on the Teachers page).
  2. Drag the card into an empty slot on the grid to place a session. The slot turns green, and the card's pending count drops.
  3. Repeat until the card shows a green check (no sessions left) and the classroom reaches 100%.

A card can only be dragged once it has a teacher selected and still has sessions left to place. If a drop isn't allowed — for example the teacher is already busy at that time — the slot shows the conflict in red and the drop is refused.

Auto-selecting teachers

If many courses still have no teacher chosen, you don't have to set each one by hand.

  1. Click Auto Select Teachers in the toolbar.
  2. The app finds a qualified teacher for each requirement and assigns them. When everything's covered it reports Teachers assigned successfully.

If no qualified teacher exists for some course, it tells you exactly which grade, level, and course need attention — go add a qualification on the Teachers page.

Locking your choices

Locking is what lets manual and automatic solving work together. New assignments start unlocked (green); lock the ones you want to keep, and the Wizard will leave them alone.

  1. Hover an assigned slot and click the lock icon — it turns blue.
  2. You can also lock a teacher to a course on its card, so the Wizard keeps that teacher on that requirement.

As the page reminds you: Locked assignments are your decision — the wizard keeps them in place and won't move them. Click the lock again to unlock.

Removing assignments & conflicts

To clear a slot, hover it and click the trash icon — The trash icon removes the assignment from the schedule.

If a change would double-book a teacher, a Conflicts Detected dialog appears and asks you to choose which assignments to delete in order to resolve the conflicts. Remove the clashing ones, then click Accept Changes.

Solving automatically (the Wizard)

The Wizard fills in everything that's left for you, working around your locked choices.

  1. Click Solve.
  2. The Wizard connects to the cloud and searches for a solution, showing its progress as it goes.
  3. When it finishes, a banner reports that Solution Wizard has generated an automatic solution. Review the proposed schedule, then Accept it to apply, or Reject it to go back to how things were.
  4. If a result is waiting to be kept, a New solution ready banner lets you Commit it or Reject it to restore the previous one.

If a full schedule isn't possible (say, too few teachers for too many grades), the Wizard returns a Partial Solution that tells you how complete it is — you can accept what it found and finish the rest by hand, or try again.

Daily Wizard limits & plans

Running the Wizard uses one of your plan's daily allowances (a run that produces a full or partial solution). The Solve button shows how many you have left, and the count resets at midnight (UTC). How many runs each day includes depends on your plan.

When you run out you'll see Daily Wizard limit reached You've used all of your plan's Wizard runs for today. The limit resets at midnight (UTC), or you can upgrade your plan for more. Higher plans include more (or unlimited) daily runs, and manual assignment is always available. Multi-week cycles also depend on your plan, so the block-based columns only appear if your plan includes them.

Who can solve

Editing the solver depends on your role in the organization.

Owner, Admin, Member
Full access — assign, lock, remove, and run the Wizard.
Solver
A focused role for people who only build schedules: they can work in the solver without editing the rest of the project.
Viewer
Read-only — can look at the schedules but not change them.

What happens next

Once a classroom reads 100% and you've accepted the Wizard's work, that schedule is done. Repeat for the remaining classrooms, then head to Reports to view, design, and share the finished schedules.
