The Study Plan page
The study plan defines the courses each grade is taught (like Mathematics, Art, Gym) and how many sessions per week each gets. Together those sessions fill the weekly slots that come from each grade's template.
Quick start
- Open the Level dropdown and pick a level.
- Assign a template to each grade (if not already done).
- Click New course and name each subject (for example, “Mathematics”).
- For each course, type how many sessions per week in each grade's column until all are Complete.
How the study plan works
Each grade has a fixed number of weekly class sessions — that number comes from the template assigned to the grade. Your job here is to fill those slots: add the grade's courses and decide how many sessions a week each course takes, until every slot is accounted for.
You work one level at a time, and the courses appear as rows with a column for each grade in that level, so you can set different amounts per grade.
Example: if a grade's template gives 10 weekly class sessions, you might give Mathematics 5 and Science 5 — filling all 10.
Picking a level to work in
Start by choosing which level you want to set up.
- Open the Level dropdown (Choose a level).
- Pick a level. Its grades and courses fill the table below.
Switching levels never loses your work — it just shows a different level. The dropdown flags any other levels that still need attention so you don't forget them.
Choosing a template for each grade
Before you can add courses, every grade in the level needs a template — that's what sets how many weekly sessions there are to fill. If any grade is missing one, the Choose the templates panel opens automatically and waits until they're all assigned.
- Read the prompt: You must choose one template per grade to determine how many class hours you need to assign in the study plan.
- For each grade listed, open its Choose a template dropdown and pick one. Each option shows its weekly session count.
- Once every grade has a template, the panel closes and you can start adding courses.
Adding a course
Add each subject the level teaches. They become rows in the table.
- Click New course at the top of the page.
- In the Add a course dialog — Enter the course name and click Accept — type a name in the Name field (for example, "Mathematics").
- Click Add, or Cancel to back out.
New course stays disabled until you've selected a level and its grades have templates.
Setting sessions per week
For each course, type how many sessions a week it gets in each grade. The header for every grade keeps a running tally against its template's slots.
- In a course row, type a number in the box under each grade's column. Use 0 for a course that grade doesn't take.
- Watch each grade's total, shown as 3 / 10 sessions, with a progress bar.
- Keep going until each grade reads Complete.
The status under a grade tells you where you stand: a green Complete when it's full, … to assign when slots remain, or … over capacity (in red) if you've assigned more than the template allows. Changes save automatically as you go.
Renaming & deleting courses
- Click a course's name to rename it; confirm with the check, or cancel with the close button.
- Click the trash icon next to a course and confirm — Are you sure you want to delete …? This action cannot be undone.
Changing a grade's template
You can swap the template a grade uses from its column header. Because the template sets the number of slots, this changes that grade's totals.
- Click the template shown in a grade's column header.
- Pick a different template from the dropdown.
A grade's template can't be changed once teachers have been assigned to it in the solver — you'd need to remove those assignments first. The dropdown also won't offer a change if there's only one template to choose from.
A note on Electives / Meetings
You may see an Electives / Meetings section below your courses. An elective / meeting is a multi-grade time block where students from different grades come together for electives like Art or Music. Electives / meetings show here so you can see the sessions they use, but they're read-only on this page — you set them up in the Electives / Meetings section.
Who can edit
Editing the study plan depends on your role in the organization.
- Owner, Admin, Member
- Can add courses, rename and delete them, set session counts, and assign templates.
- Viewer, Solver
- See the study plan in read-only mode — editing controls are disabled, and the template selector shows "You are not authorized to change this."
Warnings you may see here
When something on this page needs attention, a warning triangle appears next to Study Plan in the navigation bar; hover it to see the details (how the triangles work is explained in The warning triangles on the Summary page). The warnings this page can raise:
No Requirements Critical
No grade requires any course yet, so there is nothing to schedule. Add a course with New course and type session counts for your grades. The pages to the right stay locked until the plan has at least one requirement.
Impossible number of sessions Critical
In your cycle, every placed class adds the same number of sessions (the number of days its block covers), so a total that isn't a multiple of that number can never be scheduled. This usually appears after the Multi-Week Rotation changed. Adjust the count to 0 or to the nearest multiple the warning suggests.
Grade without selected Template
Without a template the grade has no day shape, so the app can't know how many sessions it must fill. Pick one in the template selector; solving stays disabled until every grade has one.
Level without Courses
This level has no courses defined, so its grades can't require anything. Select the level and add its courses with New course.
Grade Unbalanced
The grade's course sessions, plus any sessions taken by its electives / meetings, don't add up to its template's total: "more" means the plan asks for more than the days can hold, "less" means free periods remain. Adjust the counts until the grade shows balanced. Solving stays disabled while any grade is unbalanced.
