The Multi-Week Rotation page

Quick start

1. Click Add in the Blocks panel to create blocks (short names like “A”, “B”).
2. Drag blocks onto the week's day slots to build your rotation.
3. If you need multiple weeks, click Add Week and repeat.

What is a multi-week rotation?

By default a project uses a single repeating week. A multi-week rotation lets you structure your classes in multi-week cycles instead of a fixed weekly routine — for example, in a six-week cycle you could rotate five of six class blocks so each week has a unique schedule.

You'll see your cycle laid out as Week cards (just "Week" when there's one, or Week 1, Week 2… when there are several), each with a row of weekday slots. Above them is a Blocks panel — the pieces you place into those slots.

This page is optional. If every week is the same, leave the single week as it is and continue.

What is a block?

A block is a reusable label for a day's worth of classes. Rather than assigning classes directly to a specific weekday, you assign them to a block, which you can then place on any day (or days) in a week. That makes it easy to assemble weekly schedules from predefined pieces you can move around — especially in a multi-week cycle.

Blocks are usually short names like A, B, C. The same block can appear on more than one day or in more than one week; that's the whole point of a rotation.

When there are no blocks yet, the panel shows No blocks yet. Add one to get started.

Creating a block

Start by creating the blocks your rotation needs.

1. In the Blocks panel, click Add.
2. In the Add Block dialog, type a short name in the Name field (for example, "A").
3. Click Accept, or Cancel to back out.

Block names are 1–8 characters and must be unique. Each block gets its own color so you can spot it across the weeks. Some plans cap how many blocks you can add — if Add is disabled, it means Upgrade to a plan with multi-week cycles to add more than 5 blocks.

Renaming & reordering blocks

You can tidy up your blocks at any time.

1. Click a block's name to rename it; press Enter to save.
2. Drag a block by its grip handle to reorder it within the Blocks panel.

Placing a block on a day

Once you have blocks, drop them onto the days of each week to build your cycle.

1. Drag a block from the panel onto a day slot in a week — or use the block's options menu and choose Place on, then pick a day (and week, if you have more than one).
2. The block fills that slot. Place the same or different blocks across the days and weeks to form your rotation.
3. To clear a slot, click the remove button on the placed block. It's removed right away — no confirmation needed.

Adding & removing weeks

To build a multi-week rotation, add more weeks to the cycle. A cycle can hold up to 8 weeks. Multi-week cycles depend on your plan — if Add Week is disabled, it means Upgrade to a plan with multi-week cycles to add weeks, and once you reach the limit it reads A cycle can include at most 8 weeks.

Add a week

1. Click Add Week below the week list.
2. A new week card appears (now labelled Week 1, Week 2, …). Fill its days with blocks.

Delete a week

1. Use the delete button on the week you want to remove, then confirm.

A week can't be deleted while it still has blocks placed on it — clear its day slots first (Remove all blocks from this week before deleting).

Deleting a block

Remove a block you no longer need from the Blocks panel.

1. Click the block's trash button.
2. Confirm when asked — Are you sure you want to delete block "…"? This action cannot be undone.

How the schedule uses this

Your multi-week rotation shapes how the rest of the app works once you start solving:

1. In the solver, the schedule grid uses your block names as its columns instead of plain weekdays, so you assign classes per block rather than per day.
2. When setting teacher availability in Electives / Meetings, you choose the blocks a teacher takes part in — each block also shows how many times it repeats across the cycle.
3. Finished Reports describe the schedule by its cycle length, such as a "1-week cycle" or "3-week cycle."

Bottom line: leave a single week for a normal weekly schedule, or build blocks across multiple weeks when your school rotates its days.
